Behind the figures and the technologies of its direct competitors, the RIM manufacturer seeks to return to the game
The musical application of BlackBerry looks rather tempting. According to the Wall Street Journal quoted people “having been in contact with the leaders of RIM”, the launch could take place as early as next week. For the moment, the manufacturer Research In Motion Ltd. would be in negotiations with Universal, Sony, Warner and EMI. This new platform of Exchange would operate from the instant chat BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), used by 45 million people. It would, for a fixed package download 50 songs per month, which would add 50 other recovered songs “shared”, operating on the principle of a social network. The websites NerdBerry and BlackBerry Sync announced it in July. According to these, the application could be called BBM Music. It would be automatically integrated into the new models of smartphones RIM and downloadable on older versions.
