OpenStack debuts new GUI 25 September 2011

The cloud of open source software has been updated with a new interface and a unified authentication system, among other things.

The developers behind OpenStack have updated their software package for cloud of open source with a new GUI or graphical user interface and authentication management system.

Behind this update aims make OpenStack easier to use “for users and administrators”, said Jonathan Bryce, one of the managers of the project. “Are not talking about using OpenStack to implement a cloud with 100 servers, or even 1,000 servers, but with tens thousands of servers,” says Bryce.

This release, known as the “Diablo”, will include 70 new features and improvements, some of which are focused on its goal of obtain massive scalability. The software has a new Planner distributed deployment of virtual machines anywhere in the system, even if the nodes are scattered in different data centers around the world.
