Bidding contest for Hulu without Yahoo! 10 October 2011

The sale of the online video service Hulu goes on without Yahoo!. The company has withdrawn from the bidding contest.

The bidding process for Hulu goes into the next round. However, this will move forward without Yahoo. The exact reasons for leaving Yahoo are not known. The reason for this could be the internal turbulence: After the former Yahoo! Chief Carol Bartz was fired, the U.S. Internet companies from many was even touted as takeover candidate.

And now, the sale of Hulu now goes without Yahoo. The offer period expired last week and therefore are still three potential buyers: Amazon, Google and Dish Network.

According to media reports, Amazon and Dish Network have provide 1.5 to 2 billion U.S. dollars for the online video serviced. Google should have given a much higher bid. The search engine giant could service as an extension of its own video portal using YouTube.
