BlackBerry service disruption Tuesday have spread to Latin America, a little over a day after Outages in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
The manufacturer of the BlackBerry, the Canadian Research In Motion, said its was working on solving the problem, without giving details about its causes.
“The messaging and browsing delays being experienced … were caused by a core switch failure within RIM’s infrastructure,” the company said in an emailed update late on Tuesday afternoon in Toronto.
Many investors are calling RIM to make a division or a change of management following the recent poor performance and failure of the launch of the tablet PlayBook, supposed to compete with the Apple iPad.
RIM sees more threats on the market of courier companies, though he regarded as its domain.
“The current situation with the BlackBerry outages couldn’t come at a worse time for RIM, following some harsh criticism in recent months,” Informa Telecoms & Media analyst
