ADATA XM13: SSD with mSATA format 3 November 2011

ADATA has announced the availability of a new series of SSD mSATA format: the XM13.

The ADATA XM13 is composed of two models with a capacity of 30 GB and 60 GB. After the series of Intel and the Nocti and Strata of OCZ 310, therefore turn to ADATA surfer on the wave of mSATA SSD. Remember, these are primarily intended for use in the Ultrabook and tablets, but they can also take place on some motherboards.

In fact, Gigabyte or Zotac offers several models equipped with Z68 chipset and have a slot for mSATA SSD. The aim being to take advantage of the Smart Response Technology (SRT) of Intel, reminder, to combine the reactivity of a SSD to the storage capacity of a hard disk.

In both cases, the technical characteristics are identical: they exploit a mSATA 3 Gbps connections and they have a SandForce controller. The following rates of transfers by the manufacturer:

280 MB/s read
260 MB/s write
